Its a paper jam or carriage error
Solution 1:
- Power off and on the printer
- Move the carriage from right to left
Solution 2:
- Verify that there is no foreign body inside the printer (scrap of paper, paper clip).
Solution 3:
- Clean the encoder strip (semi-clear mylar strip located just behind the carriage rod); use only a dry lint free cloth.
Solution 4: a part inside the printer is defective
